BE BOLD Program Launch

We are excited to announce that the BE BOLD Program launched in New York City this fall! Nearly 100 children are participating each week at Bronx club sites through the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club. This photo was taken at the Throggs Neck Clubhouse in October during a visit from MCF Founder Misty Copeland, who leads the program’s continued development.

Our Team is Growing!

The MCF is excited to announce that Caryn Campbell will join us as Executive Director and Sindy Folgar will be BE BOLD Program Director beginning January 2023!

Caryn joins MCF from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (AAADT), where she has served as Director of Patron Engagement since 2014. Sindy comes to the MCF BE BOLD program with extensive performance and teaching experience, most recently as Senior Director of Programs and Partnerships at Dancewave in Brooklyn.

Celebrating Our Teaching Artists

BE BOLD is distinguished by its teaching artists, who have completed a robust professional development training. This photo was taken on the last day of our BE BOLD teacher training in September, and features the inaugural class of fearless, compassionate, amazing BE BOLD teaching artists.

Help Children Learn & Grow

The Misty Copeland Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization that raises funds to support its programs. You can help children grow and learn through an innovative approach to afterschool ballet:

  • $40 will help support healthy snacks for a child
  • $75 will help support BE BOLD attire for a child
  • $250 will help support tutoring and mentoring at a BE BOLD community partner site
  • $500 will help partially cover the stipend for a teaching artist in a BE BOLD training workshop
  • $1,000 will help support one child’s participation in the BE BOLD program
  • $7,500 will help support one BE BOLD program teaching artist team
  • $25,000 will help underwrite the entire BE BOLD program at a community site
